I can hardly believe how quickly the month of June flew by...well actually quickly the year is going. I must admit that this month I did not really get much done from list. I was really busy with client projects and events that I didn't take time out to get things done for our businesses.
Here is a list of goals that I had for last month:
- Create and print promotional postcards for Springcart.
- Create and print promotional collateral for the Design Lab.
- Start planning for the wedding Dj services website and promotional material.
- Send out a newsletter.
- Pass out at least 50 business cards and promotional material
- Continue to participate in events that are geared towards my target customer.
- Continue to promote all of our business.
- Launch a new line of packaged gifts (can't wait for this one my heads been busy with ideas)
- Start changing the home page to the boutique more often to showcase our wide range of products. Maybe I will shoot for every other week.
- Continue to Hustle Harder as I wrote about here.
As you can see I need to do a little better this month. I am happy that we did get out and network this month, it was really good for the Design Lab. We are going to try to participate in at least one networking event per month. You would think that it would be a no brainer for us to design our own promotional material since we're graphic designers but sometimes I think that we tend to over think it and want it to be perfect. I know... I definitely want to get the promotional materials done by the end of the day because I have 3 events coming up this month and two are this coming weekend. I'm giving myself until the end of the day today to get the promotional collateral for Springcart completed.
I don't know if you remember from last month but I love the way that Jumping Jack Designs layed out Her monthly goals here I really like the format and am going to give it a try. Here goes...
Design: Create something new to add to my portfolio
Prep: Research something I want to learn more about
Complete: Finish a project that has fallen through the cracks
Market: Do something to get the word out about our shop
Continue: Keep up on something I have been doing well
Design: A postcard/flyer for my upcoming collaborative trunk show that I am having with some other amazing vendors. I'' share more within the coming few weeks.
Prep: Design new jewelry pieces for the boutique. I am currently working on a new collection as we speak. Also prep for the trunk show in August.
Complete: I guess the new collection could also go under complete. I would also like to complete the things that weren't completed from my goals for last month.
